We realised very early that quality forms an integral part of the entire value chain of manufacturing. From the procurement of raw materials to the final dispatch of every chain, sprocket and mesh belt — quality is not an afterthought but the foundation of everything we do at Boyka Chain.
Proper management of quality, environment, health and safety is fundamental to our operations and critical for the success of our organisation. Effective management of the related performance is achieved with a systematic and standardised approach which is embedded throughout the organisation, its people and its processes.
This requires:
Clear, practical and easy-to-understand policies and procedures across the organisation that every team member can follow consistently.
Measures to assure that employees are aware of the requirements and have the competence and understanding to make use of them in their day-to-day work.
Processes for every business activity which integrate risk-based thinking, continuous improvement and effective controls at each stage of production.
Every product that leaves Boyka Chain passes through a structured quality framework built on four core pillars.
All raw materials — steel wire, plates, pins and bushings — undergo dimensional and chemical composition verification before entering production. Only materials meeting our specification are accepted.
Quality checks are built into every stage of the manufacturing process. Machine settings, tolerances and output are monitored continuously — issues are caught and corrected at the source, not after the fact.
Every finished product undergoes a 100% final inspection covering pitch accuracy, breaking load, dimensional conformance and surface finish. No product ships without passing this stage.
We maintain records of all quality findings and use them to drive systematic improvements. Customer feedback is actively reviewed and incorporated into our quality planning cycle.
Every product follows this structured 7-stage quality journey before it reaches you.
Steel and wire sourced from approved, certified suppliers only. Material test certificates are verified for every batch against our specification.
Dimensions, hardness and chemical composition checked. Non-conforming materials are quarantined and returned to supplier. Only approved stock enters production.
Precision CNC machines produce components to tight tolerances. First-off inspection and periodic in-process sampling throughout each production run.
Pins, bushings and plates undergo controlled heat treatment. Hardness values are verified by Rockwell hardness testing on a per-batch basis with full traceability records.
Chains are assembled on precision jigs ensuring correct pitch, press-fit interference and link freedom. Assembly torque and pre-load verified at this stage.
100% pitch accuracy check, tensile proof load test, visual and surface inspection. Chains are measured for overall length accuracy and link freedom before packing.
Approved products are oiled, wrapped and packed with batch identification labels. Delivery notes include the chain standard, size and batch reference for full traceability.
All Boyka Chain products are manufactured in accordance with internationally recognised standards. Our quality management system is structured around systematic compliance with these benchmarks.
American National Standard for roller chains, attachments and sprockets (inch series).
European and international standard for short-pitch precision roller chains (metric series).
British Standard for short-pitch transmission precision roller chains and chain wheels.
Japanese Industrial Standard for roller chains widely referenced in Asian manufacturing.
Our quality management system is structured and operated in line with ISO 9001 principles of continual improvement, customer focus and process approach.
Our quality laboratory is equipped with the instruments needed to verify every critical dimension and mechanical property of our products.
Digital pitch gauges and CMM measurement verify chain pitch accuracy to ±0.05mm across all chain sizes in our range.
Hydraulic tensile test machines verify breaking load to the values specified in ANSI and DIN standards. Batch-sampled with full result recording.
Rockwell and Vickers hardness testers verify surface and core hardness of heat-treated pins, bushings and link plates to drawing specification.
Vernier callipers, micrometres, bore gauges and pin gauges verify all critical dimensions including roller diameter, inner width, pin diameter and plate thickness.
Trained inspectors check every product for surface defects, corrosion, misassembly and finish quality under standard inspection lighting conditions.
Overall chain length is verified against the specified number of links and pitch. Critical for applications where drive centre distance is fixed.
Every product we manufacture carries our full quality commitment. If any product fails to meet the standard it was ordered to — we will replace it, no questions asked.
Answers to the questions we are most frequently asked about our quality management system and testing procedures.
Yes. Material test certificates (MTCs) from our steel and wire suppliers are available on request for any batch. For critical applications, please mention your MTC requirement when placing your order so we can ensure the paperwork is prepared and dispatched with the goods.
Yes. Every chain and connecting link undergoes a 100% visual and dimensional check before packing. Tensile strength is batch-tested rather than 100% (as the test is destructive), but every batch is represented. Sprockets and mesh belts follow a similar 100% dimensional and visual check before dispatch.
Our roller chains and sprockets are manufactured to ANSI B29.1 (inch series), DIN 8187 / ISO 606 (metric series), BS 228, and JIS B1801. The specific standard is confirmed at the time of order and all dimensions, tolerances and breaking loads conform to that standard. Please specify the standard you require when ordering.
Yes. We can provide a basic inspection report covering pitch accuracy, dimensional conformance and tensile batch test results for your order. For bespoke or large orders, a more detailed quality data package can be prepared. Please request this at the time of order as it requires additional preparation time.
Any product found not to meet the agreed specification will be replaced at no cost. We maintain a corrective action and preventive action (CAPA) system — every non-conformance is investigated, root-caused, and a corrective action implemented to prevent recurrence. Customer claims are taken very seriously and responded to promptly.
Yes. All heat-treated components — pins, bushings and link plates — are batch-tested for surface and core hardness using Rockwell and Vickers hardness testers. Hardness results are recorded and traceable to the production batch. The target hardness ranges are aligned with the requirements of the relevant chain standard.
We deliver precision-engineered chains and sprockets built to your exact specification. Let's talk about your requirements.
